NZXT has improved on their already famous liquid cooler line by making a few improvements to the Kraken X-series of AIO coolers. The wider infinity mirror design of the pump block gives the device a more substantial appearance, while the enhancements discovered in the 7th-generation Asetek pump aid with efficiency and cooling performance. In this kit, NZXT chose a relatively thick 24 FPI, 280mm radiator and partnered it with two of their Aer P 140mm fans, resulting in this cooler being in the center of our test results at idle but matching the performance of a 360mm kit during load. These findings are rather amazing, and if you have room in your system for a 280mm radiator and fans, the Kraken X63 provides good cooling performance with minimal noise output.
Here at ThinkComputers, we love the infinite mirror aesthetic, and the wider application of that design on the Kraken X63 further strengthens that opinion. With CAM compatibility, you can adjust the lighting and performance of the cooler from a single piece of software. While the Aer P fans are not RGB-enabled, they can be customized by replacing out the color rings, which comes at an additional cost.
This cooler is fantastic. What NZXT has done with the pump/block in terms of the infinity mirror LED configuration is elegant, innovative, and distinguished from the competition by the 360° rotation that was cleverly incorporated into the design. The tubes are robust while remaining bendable and flexible, and their length allows the radiator to be put in a number of configurations. My only genuine complaint is the clumsy SATA/Power/LED connection cord. I found it difficult to route and difficult to conceal, but lucky for me, my motherboard is black enough that it does not detract from the overall aesthetic.
Bottom line: If you enjoy the design of the Kraken X63 and have a case that supports the 280mm model of an AIO, you won't be disappointed.
There's a lot to like about the Kraken X63 RGB, but there's also a few things to detest about the AIO. For starters, it's a tad costly. Given that this is a 280mm radiator solution, more cheap AIOs(opens in new tab) are easily available. The X63, on the other hand, comes with sophisticated RGB lights and the 7th generation Asetek pump.
NZXT chose to eliminate the option to operate the fans mounted to the radiator directly using CAM via the CPU block. This is currently reserved for Kraken AIOs of the Z series, which are significantly more costly. That's unfortunate, but it means you'll need to design your construction carefully so that the two fans can be linked to a fan controller or your motherboard.
The NZXT Kraken X63 RGB CPU Cooler protects your computer from power-hungry programs. Its features emphasize temperature equalization and performance for high-end gaming setups.
With reliable CAM software, you may push past the barrier and go beyond the boundaries of your machine.
As a result, we can simply suggest this to anyone who wants to maintain their PC stable for long-term performance.

+ Impressive 7th Gen Asetek pump
+ LCD infinity effect on the CPU block
+ Excellent performance with 280mm radiator
+ NZXT RGB Aer fans included
+ CAM software is finally worth using
- Pricey
- No direct fan control
+ Looks great
+ Very good cooling performance
+ Straightforward installation
+ Six-year warranty
- Could be quieter under load
- No spare thermal paste
+ Amazing levels of performance – Both in terms of CPU temperatures and low acoustic output
+ Bright and vibrant ARGB lighting effects that are easily customisable within the NZXT CAM software
+ Easy to install
+ This new white variant really adds to the overall aesthetic of what was already a great product in the original ‘black’ version
+ 100% viable for overclocking efforts
- Packaging is a little boring and doesn’t really represent the ARGB lighting effects this has. More so, the only thing denoting this as the ‘white’ variant is a small sticker. Just showing the original black model on the front of the box is a little disappointing and may mislead some consumers as to what this variant truly looks like
- The radiator fins do seem easily surceptible to denting. While this shouldn’t impact its performance, care during installation is strongly recommended to maintain the aesthetic
+ Impressive Performance
+ NZXT CAM Compatibility
+ Larger Infinity Mirror
+ SATA Powered
+ Easy Installation
- No RGB Fans Included

+ Block/Pump Aesthetics are top of class
+ Good CPU Cooling
+ Fans are quiet under load
- Not everyone can use 280mm configuration
- CAM is still a turn off due to bad reputation
- Didn’t like the fan/led connection cable combo
+ Awesome cooling performance
+ Good built quality in general
+ Loved the twist mirror mechanism makes the build process exponentially less frustrating in case of misaligned pump installation.
+ Really simple mounting procedure.
- NZXT should fix the mechanism behind that twist function
- The pre-applied thermal paste is an absolute waste. It should be replaced by actual paste packed separately in the package
- The limited RGB capabilities of the cam software is somewhat disappointing.
+ The overall looks are as always tasteful
+ The cooling is top-notch
+ The performance,is fantastic for an LCS of this class
+ Pleasantly surprised by NZXT Kraken X63 cooling performance
- The cooling block and radiator are performing 100% similar to the previous model, the X62, so there is no gain to be made there
+ Easy enough to install
+ Anyone could install this cooler
+ The Kraken X63 does well in keeping our PC stabilised
- None
