From the moment you lay hands on the Meshify 2, you’ll find that Fractal Design put attention into every single detail. I found myself piecing it apart further than most cases that land on the test bench, just to experience and discover all of Fractal Design’s little tricks – it just went on and on. Fractal offers a thoughtful design aimed at ease-of-use, and delivers a very pleasant and enjoyable building experience.
While I hope I have conveyed the sheer size of this case by this point, I should point out that, while it is quite the behemoth, it’s still pretty snazzy looking. There are really only two colour options for this specific model, black and grey (I got grey because I am clearly a party animal), but the tempered glass will really be what draws the eye. On top of things, we have two USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C, power and reset buttons, and jacks for mics and headphones
The Meshify 2 offers almost everything that was good about the Define 7, and even improved the cooling performance for those who demand the lowest possible temps. Also, the full-height mesh fascia will appeal to builders who stand obstructive front panels, and our benchmarks reveal a marked improvement in cooling ability.
Such alterations don't make the case any less enjoyable to work with - open-top access, tool-free side panels and a versatile interior ensure a high-quality experience.
But, and as you will read later on, this is one of the few downsides to the Meshify 2. It inevitably isn't as quiet as its Define 7 sibling, and you do lose the 5.25in optical bay and two USB ports.
But even with that in mind, overall, the reviews did not really find much to hold against this case. It will hold just about anything you want to put into it, likely with room to spare.
The Fractal Design Meshify 2 has been on the market for a couple of years at this point, so its price has fallen to a very nice level. If you aren’t in a situation where space is going to be a premium, then Fractal Design’s Meshify 2 case is going to be a great choice for any upcoming PC build you may be planning.
This might be one of the best cases we have made compariosons on. As far as we can tell, the only real downside to the Meshify 2 case is the noise. You are definitely going to be able to hear those two front fans, but of course that is the trade-off for better airflow and performance.
One last negative point, is that there is an absence of RGB lighting, a mixed colour scheme and a single screw that is awkward to access.
The Meshify 2 doesn’t try to re-invent the wheel when it comes to case design, which we like, instead it tries to refine the experience. There’s only one thing about it that you need to ask yourself before smashing the buy button: Will you really use the room for storage or cooling parts, or can you buy a smaller case and save yourself some space and money?
