The NZXT H500i is a sturdy case with an open, airy interior that gives you plenty of room to move around in. All edges on the inside is rounded which prevent cuts and scratches that takes the fun out of building a PC. The cable-routing guides are well-placed, but also removable, which is good news for creative types who have their own visions for the NZXT H500i.
Despite being mostly straight lines and sharp corners on the outside, the NZXT H500i has plenty of attitude. The reviews especially liked that it's easy to see through the tempered-glass side panel. The H500i is the sort of case that can stand on its own. Especially for the budget-minded builders, the NZXT H500i is a win. If NZXT had been able to bundle in a PCI Express riser for the tempting vertical video-card mount, this could well be the ultimate $99 PC case.
But lets talk about the style of the case again. There is no doubt, just by looking at the H500i you can tell it is an NZXT case. It has that sleek design we are used to seeing from NZXT and I really like that they kept the top and front of the case as a single piece. This allowed them to have that perfect 90 degree angle at the front.
The sub $100 price point is a tough market, but NZXT does well with the H500i and delivers a very impressive case . The ease of build and overall quality feel and clean appearance make the H500i hard to beat.
It was almost hard to find any downsides mentioned in the reviews, but let's get the few we found of the way: it allows for three drives to be installed, which is actually nice as most other cases of this size max out at two.
However, NZXT opted for a more simplistic design in the H500i, which forces you to take out the whole cage before your are able to add a drive by using traditional screws. Of course this is not a deal breaker, but it does present an inconvenience and is inconsistent with the rest of the chassis.
Also an ATX motherboard is a tight fit in this case so you could run into issues connecting cables to the headers towards the bottom of your board.
NZXT has a really solid case in their H500i. You would be really hard pressed to find another case that offers such style, function, and features for only $99.

Our Opinion. The NZXT H500i combines a minimalist appearance and excellent cable management with a slew of premium features often seen in higher-priced cases. Despite a few small issues, it's one of the best cases under $100 we've seen.
The H510i from NZXT is an update to the H500i, which I reviewed last year. A new Smart Device to control the fans and RGB lighting, as well as a USB-C connector on the front, are among the key improvements.
