should i buy The Silverstone Precision PS15 case?

The Silverstone Precision PS15 upsides

So what can be said about the Silverstone PS15? The reviews have stated that the PS15 has a very compact design, it is well processed and offers a high potential for airflow due to the mesh elements. Because it has removed most of the RGB effects or unusual shapes, it appears timeless, and it offers good modding potential due to the glass side window. The case has a volume of only 25 litres and the features of the PS15 case are very sparsely sown.

So you might think that Silverstone made the perfect case for budget buyers. Sadly, this is only partially true.

With that said, the build quality of the Precision PS15 is really good for an affordable chassis. However, looking at this market segment of mATX enclosures, you have a lot of options. In fact, other similar cases start at 40$, a whole 20$ less than the Silverstone Precision PS15, but it tend to be bigger and only offer one USB 3.0 port. For the extra cost, Silverstone PS15 gives you a more compact size, two USB 3.0 ports, and a better build quality and material mix. But, looking at the $60 market, the playing field is more leveled out with some brands offering two fans and much better storage options.

Is The Silverstone Precision PS15 a buy?

The Silverstone Precision PS15 is a compact PC case, for the budget minded builder, that has all the benefits and drawbacks that you'd expect to find in a case of this size and price. If space on your desktop is important, the PS15 will be a solid choice. The same goes for price. At $60, this chassis is a low price leader in this class. The low price should leave room in your budget for an intake fan, but you may also have a solid spinner or two that you can carry over from a previous build. If that’s an option and your budget is tight, this case is easy to recommend.

The Silverstone Precision PS15 downsides

The reviews we looked at, came up with a couple of negative points. Such as the thickness of the material in some areas, the dust filters, some of which are difficult to remove, and the breakable slot bezels. However, considering that the price is where it is, the Silverstone is currently unrivalled in terms of features. Only the Raijintek Styx can serve as a possible competitor.

Some testers said that the lack of airflow in this chassis had an overall negative impact on its ability to remove the heat generated by their system components.

That will of course impact the overall value of this case when the end user adds one or more intake fans to the system build. But even though the added fan will enhance cooling performance, that would introduce more system noise, negatively impacting its acoustic-efficiency rating

The Silverstone Precision PS15 might be a buy

After looking at all the reviews, in the end, the Silverstone Precision PS15 actually has a lot to offer, as much as possible in the price bracket it belongs. It obviously haven't convinces the reviewers, or us, completely, and we fear that a budget-minded user isn't going to be drawn to it without considering the many other options on the market. As conclusion, having a more tangible and visible bang for your buck case, might trump shaving a few extra liters in volume off your desk for this market segment.

However, if tiny a case and excellent cooling is your thing, the Silverstone Precision PS15 is right up your alley.
